Nitro RC cars Help to a beginner ?

Hi i am new To nitro cars and i would like to know everything that would help me care and take care of my car also i have looked at 2 nitro cars ones a truggy and ones a buggy now i would like to know with one would be better 1/10th or 1/8 my dad told me that would be the measurements of the car. i found a BATTELTIN triggy that i liked on wonder hobby.com and that car has a 125cc tank size how much fuel would that hold aslo i would like to know ware to find the cheepest fuel possible online or any ware in windhan NH (if u dont know still answer this question) and there is a picture (that i dont think is the car but) it has a pull start engine will that be any thing differant then a glow plug egniter?????

Ok I will try to answer this question fully as best as I can, I may not cover everything but if you still have any questions feel free to email/IM me.
As for taking care of the car, just keep it clean because dirt and particles can mess up your differential or transmission. If you are going to store it for a while then put some after run oil in the carb (Don't wanna spend too much then just use WD-40, not as good but still works). Don't overlean your engine, better to run it on the rich side then lean. Keep you bearing clean and lubed (you definitely don't need to clean them after every but just once in a while or when the part is just not moving smoothly). I don't think there is much maintenance for them just as long as you don't run them in dirty terrains like sand or mud.
I would recommend a buggy their are more choices and they are more popular so that means there is more part availability which is important!
1/10 and 1/8 is the scale or the car. The 1/10 is smaller. If you have the room then I would recommend getting a 1/8th scale.
As for that model I have no experience and have not heard of it. Check out the brand Ofna. towerhobbies.com is a good site to order a car off of, good prices and great service you can trust (no I don't work for the site). Make sure to use a coupon because at the least you can save $20 off a $149 order.
Look for hobby shops around your area because ordering fuel online can be pricey. Again search towerhobbies.com for fuel.
I would recommend a pull start as you don't have to rely on batteries to start your engine. The glow plug igniter is used to warm up the glow plug to start the engine. The pull start is used to crank the engine.
As for durability I would get a savage but they are not that good for street use. I buggy should be durable enough and will work well off and on road. Umm....letting friends use your car? That's up to you, the way I think of it, if they didn't spend the money and time on the car then they won't respect it and probably end up trying to go really fast breaking it. Just make sure to drive it yourself first to get used to it and break it in properly, then decide if you want other people to drive it.

Buying a new or used RC model car is a rewarding and exciting process. Gas or electric? Truck or car? Helicopter or plane? There are many considerations you must address before making these decisions. However, there are 5 top factors that will help you on your decision.

Battery or gas?

The major factors determining your choice here are run time and noise. Gas RC cars, trucks, planes, or helicopters are usually loud, even with a muffler installed. The advantage of gas RC's are that they can run a lot longer with a tank of fuel versus a battery powered RC. The average battery life on a RC vehicle will give you roughly 10 to 25 minutes of run time - at full speed. Some radio control trucks and cars deplete energy faster due to accessories like lights, horns and other gadgets.

Kit vs RTR?

When buying a new RC car or truck or even a plane, there are 2 directions you can take based on your patience, budget, and skill level. If you're the adventurous type and enjoy working on a project from beginning to end then a Kit package is your best option. Kits involve putting together the entire RC car, truck, or plane together from a box of pieces into the final product, which you can be proud of your accomplishment! Kit packages are usually more expensive but are more modifiable. RTR or "Ready to Run" packages are ready to go outside of the box. Charge the battery or fuel up the tank and you'll be enjoying your new RC within minutes, versus hours or even days compared to kits.

Location, Location, Location

Gas powered RC cars and trucks require space and are not ideal for apartment complexes or homes which could have neighbors calling in noise complaints to your local authorities. Radio controlled planes and helicopters need wide open spaces with little obstruction for safe operation. Electric RC's can normally be operated anywhere as they are considerably less noisy than gas RC's. Another consideration is terrain. Is your RC truck or car an off-road buggy or stomper truck or is it a track racer? For example, street RC's perform better and tires last longer on pavement versus asphalt.

Wear and Tear

There are great deals out there on unwanted RC models, however it is important to understand the wear-and-tear of these vehicle before you shell out your hard-earned cash. Start with the heart. That is check the motor, the most important piece to the model. If it's gas, check for oil leakage around the head and base of the motor. Shocks when worn out tend to leak oil as well so look at these with a close eye as well.

What's your Budget

With prices for used buggies around $75 to fully loaded USED RC Helicopters peaking over $1,500, it's best to have an understanding of your purchasing budget, but also your operational budget as well. After you buy your new or used radio controlled model the spending doesn't stop there as you will have maintenance costs for tires, batteries, fuel, bushings, blades, servos, and more. Depending on how serious you are involved with your RC model will determine how much of an operating budget you will need.

There are many ways on how to start with gas-powered RC car or truck. There are many realistic features offered by these remote-controlled cars and trucks. They come in a variety of styles and types in the industry. In choosing one, there are many considerations you should take before eventually owning one.

Radio-controlled cars and trucks lack the power and running time. But if you want to consider, you can convert them into gas powered RC cars, with the use of nitromethane-based fuel. This fuel provides RC cars a level or realism or performance, which are absent on other battery-powered vehicles. Aside from this, they are also highly customizable making it possible for you to integrate RC car accessories and personalize them. There are options of engines and transmitters available to allow you to choose one depending on how you'd want the RC car works.

To help you begin in finding the right gas-powered RC car, the following are the factors you should consider:

1. Engines. The most important aspect in a gas RC car, you can choose from the variety of engine models available to choose from. Filters are also used on these cars and the same with your automobile they require replacement at a proper time interval.

3. Radio. Radio controller is used to control the RC car and could be same type used on electrically-powered RC cars. It is radio controller operates on 2-channel system that needs batteries to make it work. Additional batteries would be needed to power the receiver though there are other receivers that are fed from the motor itself.

4. Sport or competition. This is an aspect you most considered when choosing body style. There are different options for you; you have choices from sedans, trucks, buggies, stock cars, and other popular car models. These are basically available in two versions: sports, and competition version. Sports RC cars typically cost less than the car you intend to race, which of course would need more power and higher speeds. Ball bearings and oil shocks are some of the advanced options included for the competition RC car version.

Depending on the type you need, RC car kits and ready-to-car or RTR kits are available. If you are a beginner, RTR kits are what you need as this comes out of the box ready for the fuel. RC car kit, on the other hand, requires heavy work but allows you to decide how they would be put together.
